If you are considering a tooth replacement, there are now a number of options for you to choose. Dr. Todd McCracken has been delivering innovative dental solutions to create naturally beautiful smiles, restore oral health, and alleviate dental discomfort since 1997. There are myriad reasons to choose implant dentures instead of dental implants, the top four of which include:

  • Provide the stability of healthy teeth
  • Bite force increases up to 10 times during the first year
  • Fixed implant supported dentures act similar to permanent teeth
  • Denture supported implants look, act, and feel comparable to natural teeth
  • Dental implants fuse with the jaw bone to stimulate bone growth and stop additional loss

The advantages of a tooth replacement include decreased risk of gum disease and no risk of decay. At Laser Smile Studio, we will consider your individual preferences and needs when suggesting removable or fixed options.

Types of Implant-Supported Dentures

Implant supported dentures sit on your gums and are secured by dental implants. While two or more dental implants are needed to place either type, they are available in two distinct types: ball- and bar-retained. Bar-retained dentures are connected to implants that are surgically embedded in the gums. The denture rests on a mental bar along the gum line that is fastened to the implants. Ball-retained dentures utilize a ball and socket device that attaches the implants to the dentures. Usually, the implants have a ball on top of them and the denture is outfitted with sockets. They are snapped into position where the ball and sockets align together. We can help determine which type of implant-supported denture is right for you.
