What Is Peri-Implantitis?

When an infection takes hold in your mouth around your implant, this is called peri-implantitis. It can come from gum disease or other oral infections that aren’t dealt with quickly enough. This disease can cause inflammation around your implant, but even more important, it can cause bone loss. Loosing bone mass around your implant can make it loose or fall out.
